CKF in Mexico

Mexico has been a priority for Cancer Kids First because of the lack of funding and access to treatment present. From partnerships with organizations to our CKF Mexico chapter, we've been able to assist countless pediatric cancer patients here through our Arts program and Toys/Books program.

Over August and September 2021, Cancer Kids First worked tirelessly to fundraise, purchase, and send over school supplies to Fundacion Tmona in Mexico. Around September 16th, CKF ambassador Daniella brought hundreds of new school supplies across the border. She was able to speak with some of the most inspiring kids, and learned a lot from their experiences.

Shopping for school supplies has long been some of our favorite childhood memories during the back-to-school season. However, while we're fortunate enough to be able to afford new supplies each year, patients in Mexico don't often have the luxury. Our donations provided necessary school supplies that enhanced the education of many patients.

In the fall of 2021, we also collaborated with World Child Cancer to send close to 1,000 cards to partner pediatric cancer hospitals in Mexico. Donated funds were used for oncologist training sessions and teaching hospitals.
