Can I donate my own toys/books that I don't play with or read anymore?
Unfortunately, due to strict regulations from hospitals, we can only accept NEW books and toys to decrease risks of infection. However, if you would like to mail us toys or books straight from a toy or book company, we can accept those! Please mail them to:

Is my donation tax deductible?
Yes! Since we are an official Virginia 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, donations are tax deductible for federal income tax purposes.
Fundraising
How can I fundraise for Cancer Kids First?
Fundraising is just one of the ways you can help out CKF and support us! Fundraising for us includes setting up online campaigns and coordinating events. If you are interested in helping start a fundraiser or participating in one, visit the fundraising section of our website.
Volunteering
How can I volunteer for CKF?
Cancer Kids First depends on its many volunteers to fulfill our mission. Without them, we wouldn't have been able to help all the patients we have helped already! To join our dedicated community of volunteers, click here.
Can I still volunteer for CKF even if I don't live in the state you are located in?
Yes; we hope to have volunteers from every state within the US, and would be honored to have you on our volunteer team! From creating a chapter to designing cards, you can do so much to help us. Read more about how to become a volunteer here. You can also help out by spreading the word about our organization to get our mission out to more people! Share our Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and website with your friends and family, as well as our "HOPE" page which was made for cancer patients and their families to read . Our "HOPE" page is filled with messages from cancer survivors from all over the US; please share that page if you know someone with cancer or someone who has a family member diagnosed with cancer.
Do I get service hours for volunteering?
Yes! Everything you do to help Cancer Kids First counts for service hours. If you are on a specific team for CKF volunteering (ex: fundraising), your head will give you more details as to what will count as service hours and who to submit those hours too. If you have additional questions about service hours, make sure to ask you head - they are there to help you!
Does hosting a CKF donation drive at a public charity/company count for service hours?
Yes! Everything you do to help Cancer Kids First counts for service hours.
Are there leadership positions at CKF available?
You can definitely start a chapter in your area if you are looking to lead a team. Learn more about how to start a chapter here. If you're question is regarding a leadership position at CKF's headquarters, we don't have any current positions available. However, we do occasionally have unexpected openings due to special circumstances. Make sure to follow our Instagram to stay updated, as that is the social media account we are most active on!
